The eleventh World Championship Majorettes Sport and the 5th Majorettes Cup were held with the financial support of the Moravian-Silesian Region and the Municipality of Ostrava. It was held under the auspices of Mr. Jan Dohnal, Mayor of the City of Ostrava, and Mr. Jaroslav Kania, Deputy Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Ostrava is a statutory, regional and university city near the border with Poland. It is located at the confluence of the Oder, Opava, Ostravice and Lučina rivers. In terms of population and area, Ostrava is the third largest city in the Czech Republic, the second largest in Moravia and the largest city in Czech Silesia. This year, it welcomed the 11th World Championships Majorettes Sport in the most modern athletics hall in the Czech Republic.

The number 11 is one of the three master numbers in numerology, and it can be said with humility that the 11th year met the expectations of all participants, both male and female organizers. This year is also marked by the Summer Olympic Games full of amazing sporting performances. The athletics hall was also filled with great sports performances, for four days it came alive with youth, dance, music, joy of achievements. The whole World Championship was about preparing and watching its charges, its children and its favorites.

More than two thousand competitors from Europe and Asia presented themselves in four competition days, in more than 80 competition disciplines in five age categories. 

The recording of the World Championship was made and broadcast by Czech Television – ČT sport, the live broadcast online on the website ifms-majorettes.com watched by thousands of fans of majorettes sport, both domestic and foreign.
Good starts, sporting successes, joy of movement, new friendships and spectator experiences, these were the attributes of the competition days.
