Grand Prix - important!
Dear leaders, coaches, choreographers and competitors,
Thank you for your extraordinary interest in the Grand Prix competition in majorette sport. More than 170 competition formations were registered for this year’s edition, which confirms the growing interest in our sport and the high level of participants from various countries.
The Grand Prix is an open competition without a promotion system. Its main goal is to map the qualitative and quantitative level of majorette sport, support the sports growth of competitors and create a motivating competition environment.
However, due to the high number of disciplines announced, the minimum number of competition formations was not met in some categories. Based on the recommendation of the Board of Judges, similar disciplines are therefore being merged, or age categories are being merged within the same discipline. In the case of merging age categories, the younger category will be awarded a bonus of 0.3 points from each judge.
The aim of this measure is to maintain the true competitive principle and motivate all participants to present the competition formation as high as possible. The medal should be the result of sports performance and competition between competitors, not an automatic award for participation alone.
The competition is evaluated using a deduction system. The judges do not compare performances in a “better-worse” style, but evaluate each performance individually according to what they actually see on the competition area. The resulting grade is created by a combination of deductions for mistakes and bonuses for quality performance.
If the disciplines were not combined, some formations would compete without rivals and would automatically win the gold medal. Such an approach would not be beneficial for the athletes’ sports development or for the long-term prestige of majorette sport. On the contrary, our goal is to support healthy competition, motivation for training and the value of sporting success.
Combining disciplines has long been a common and proven practice in the IFMS environment. We believe that even foreign participants will accept this decision with understanding as a step aimed at maintaining fairness, sporting value and a high level of competition.

Vážení vedoucí, trenéři, choreografové a soutěžící,
děkujeme vám za váš mimořádný zájem o soutěž Grand Prix v mažoretkovém sportu. Do letošního ročníku bylo přihlášeno více než 170 soutěžních formací, což potvrzuje rostoucí zájem o náš sport a vysokou úroveň účastníků z různých zemí.
Grand Prix je otevřená soutěž bez postupového systému. Jejím hlavním cílem je zmapovat kvalitativní a kvantitativní úroveň mažoretkového sportu, podpořit sportovní růst soutěžících a vytvořit motivující soutěžní prostředí.
Vzhledem k vysokému počtu vyhlášených disciplín však v některých kategoriích nebyl splněn minimální počet soutěžních formací. Na základě doporučení rozhodčí komise proto dochází ke slučování podobných disciplín, respektive ke slučování věkových kategorií v rámci stejné disciplíny. V případě slučování věkových kategorií bude mladší kategorii udělen bonus 0,3 bodu od každého rozhodčího.
Cílem tohoto opatření je zachovat skutečný soutěžní princip a motivovat všechny účastníky k co nejvyšší prezentaci soutěžní formace. Medaile by měla být výsledkem sportovního výkonu a soutěže mezi soutěžícími, nikoli automatickým oceněním pouze za účast.
Soutěž je hodnocena srážkovým systémem. Rozhodčí neporovnávají výkony stylem „lepší-horší“, ale hodnotí každý výkon jednotlivě podle toho, co skutečně vidí na soutěžní ploše. Výsledná známka vzniká kombinací srážek za chyby a bonusů za kvalitní výkon.
Pokud by se disciplíny neslučovaly, některé formace by soutěžily bez soupeřů a automaticky by získaly zlatou medaili. Takový přístup by nebyl prospěšný pro sportovní rozvoj sportovců ani pro dlouhodobou prestiž mažoretkového sportu. Naopak, naším cílem je podporovat zdravou soutěživost, motivaci k tréninku a hodnotu sportovního úspěchu.
Slučování disciplín je v prostředí IFMS dlouhodobě běžnou a osvědčenou praxí. Věříme, že i zahraniční účastníci toto rozhodnutí přijmou s pochopením jako krok směřující k zachování férovosti, sportovní hodnoty a vysoké úrovně soutěže.
