Interesting spectacle can be a choice of Golden Majorette. Active competitors from 14 years old (2004) attended a Memorial of Jiri Necid may participate. In the case of a higher number of applicants have priority majorettes, who compete in the group or submitted an application sooner. Disciplines:1. Verbal communication (introduction of myself, your club and city) to 15 seconds 2. Demonstration of marching step for accompanying organizer´s music in 30 seconds. Mandatory outfit: majorette cap, majorettes boots 3. Own performance with music in the length of competition´s time
The competition itself took place in the modern sports hall of Gazprom. The local organizer was Oksana Polianichko, President of the Federation of Majorettes Sport and Baton Twirling. The performances of the contestants were different, the tradition of Majorettes Sport is in Asia far from as wide as in Europe. The success of the championship is that the Championship was held, that there is interest in Majorettes Sport and that it brings together children from different countries and continents with different cultures and religions.
I report from my visit at the International sport festival Avangard and Avangard Open Cup (Dance Championships) in Moscow on 17. – 20.11.2017. Shortly after arrival we had an opportunity to view the vast CSKA Moscow ground comprising of around 43 arenas for multiple sport purposes. One of which being the venue that hosted the Grand Prix Majorettes Sport where I took part as a technical referee.
The contest took place in a friendly atmosphere and I had a chance to regard the level of skills and advancement of the international groups that I could not view at the WCH Prague. Accordingly, and as per the organizers‘ requests, I prepared the MASTER CLASS seminar that was held the following day after the dance competition.
The Russian contestants benefit from excellent flexibility training, but above all also from great efforts and hard work which enabled them to make a huge progress since the last year. I aimed the seminar particularly at the use of the Pom-Pom but also at the baton and possible combinations. The seminar was attended by approx 60 participants from varied groups, countries, coaches and majorettes.
It was followed by the specialist seminar focusing on baton twirling hosted by the experienced and charismatic Jean Michel Ruelle of France. Jean is the Technical Director of the French Twirling Federation (FEDERATION FRANÇAISE SPORTIVE de TWIRLING BÂTON) and a very good tutor. Meeting him was pleasant and enriching.
The whole festival made a magnificient impression, similarly as the last year’s Dance Chanpionships in Sokolniki, both events organized by Andrey Kokoulin. The variety and diversity of the dance sport is interestingnot only for the audience but also beneficial for the competitors who develop new skills and exchange experiences to progress further.
I am delighed that I have a chance to be a part of it, thanks to the majorette sport and IFMS (International Federation Majorettes Sport).
Jeszcze raz dziękuję i pozdrawiam organizatorów i zawodników.
a few days ago it was not just the end of another calendar year, but also of the competition year, with the International Federation Majorettes Sport (IFMS) being the fifth. If we look back on that year, we can say that it was aboth challenging and successful season. We were very pleased with the number of formations in all international competitions.Increasing interest indicates a well-defined direction that leads to higher performance levels of competitors in all disciplines and age categories. International comparison of performances is the best way to unify the majorettes sport. I would like to thank this way once again all those who have contributed to this trend.
The World Championship is the culmination of the entire season. IFMS Leadership selected for its organizing Prague, Capital of the Czech Republic. This choice was deliberate. I dare to say that the Czech Republic is one of the longest-running countries in the history of majorettes sport. After all, the phrase “majorettes sport” was created here and it was given the basis of the rules for this contemporary sport destined especially for the girls. The advantage for the organizing of this top competition in Prague is that we can fulfill WCH with a high-quality performance level in those disciplines and age categories that are not sufficiently represented by foreign participants. The Czech Republic covers the largest portfolio of participants but is also a guarantee of quality.
It’s great that majorettes sport spreads through Europe, Asia and other continents. I believe that there is not far the time when the ratio of participants will be balanced and the World Championship will be in the capital of another country; moreover, the rising level of foreign participants gives evidence to their being placed on medal places.I would like to thank once again this way all those who are interested in majorettes sport from countries all around the world who have an eminent interest in participating in IFMS competitions or are only becoming acquainted with the majorettes sport. They bring not only to us but also to the competitions new impulses and insights. We use them to improve and complement the disciplines following their incorporation into the competition rules.
Our goal is to organize regularly or co-organize contests in majorettes sport on all world continents. We know it’s a demanding journey. We can gladly say that the European Championship or the Grand Prix held under the IFMS heading brings its fruit; becoming a tradition and mapping and expanding the fame of majorettes sport. I thank the Polish, Croatian, Russian, Czech organizers and expectant organizersfrom Bulgaria and Kyrgyzstan for support.
We are trying to establish new contacts, which is a long-term activity; joining an existing performance class is not easy for emerging clubs. IFMS support for new adepts is given; IFMS sends the best-experienced experts-lecturers of majorettessport into the countries that want to join majorettesaction (e.g. Belarus, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Croatia).
To promote and improve the understanding of the majorettes sport there are introduced online broadcasts with sports commentators. Thanks you all the current commentators who took the job. At the same time, it is also a challenge for new candidates, do not hesitate and log in (contact firstname.lastname@example.org), our vision is that commenting will be also in other languages.
The future in the area of better awareness is in facebook. For this purpose, individual member states delegate its moderator; his/her role lies in publishing of information and interesting things from the area of his/hercompetence.
I look forward to meeting you again Good luck, Josef Doležel
A seminar for trainers, chiefs, assistants (28 persons) and majorettes (34 persons) in Pazardzhik City, Bulgaria, this time for the organizing city of Grand Prix
Bulgaria is a country with strong historical and national roots, in the area of music and dance it expresses its relation to folklore and national costumes. At the time of our stay we were able to see a folk ensemble testing. With admiration, we watched devotion, humility, respect and joy from the demonstrated show.
Majorettes sport, its rules and practical examples of elements and choreographies are very different from national traditions. While folklore preserves the treasures of the past, Majorettes sport responds to the feelings of the young generation, to their movement and musical diversity, variety in clothing, makeup and haircuts.
If we can compare though only the short-term development of Majorettes sport in Bulgaria, then as the basis can be used the first participation of the Mystery Pazardzhik Majorettes, the IIIrd year of the WCH in Prague and repeat the words of club chief Mrs. SlavaAndonova “We are here for the first time and we are aware that we do not have to win for the first time, but we want to look at the performance level and level of the organization and can think about it for the future.” At the Vth year of the WCH, the Bulgarian anthem for the winner yet sounded, the 1st place in the pom-pom event, the solo event, the age category of the senior, and that is a big challenge. Motivating was also the placement of the group of seniors in 3rd place. The achievements achieved by the Mystery can be inscribed to the interest of both the charges side and the support of the Children’s Complex, which is led by Mrs. EmiiyaSpasova, to the support of the city and, last but not least, to the quality seminar with the Czech leaders of Majorettes sport held last year.
This year’s seminar is important for the preparation of clubs to participate in the Grand Prix, from 8 to 10 June 2018,Pazardzhik City will belong to the Majorettes sport. The participation of trainers and clubs chiefs at the seminar focuses on a better orientation in the rules and a practical part then on a qualitative shift in training and understanding of Majorettes sport, with the result of possible participation in international competition on home soil.
The “master class” seminar was held as the Grand Prix at the CSKA Moscow Sports Center hall. The relatively demanding seminar was consisted of two parts; the first part was focused on motion training and work with pom-poms, the second part was focused on working with a baton, especially on elements of twirling. The first part was lectured by Monika Berger and Anna Berger, Czech Republic, the second partthen by Jean Michel Ruelle, France. A total of 60 people participated in the seminar. The interest of coaches and participants is a further step towards expanding the awareness of Majorettes sport and, primarily, a step towards increasing its quality in the world.
